Bevan Langley
SPA Lifeguard
SSA Surf Coach
Theta Qualified Surf Guide
When it comes to running tours in South Africa they don’t come much more qualified than Bevan. Not only does he boast over five years experience of guiding surf groups along the coastline, but he has also had three seasons working as an overland tour guide throughout Southern and Eastern Africa.
Hailing from Durban, Bevan was brought up in and around the infamous heavy beach breaks. Originally learning his trade on a body board he soon realised that standing up on the board was the way forward, and has travelled and surfed South Africa’s East coast extensively.
He is a reputable photographer, and gets equal pleasure when he’s shooting subject matter in the oceans, or out on the African planes.

Jon Henry
Pro Surfer 1986 / 1987
SA Big Wave Pioneer
Vice Chairman Atlantic Surf Club
Head Contest Director Atlantic Surf Club
Jon started surfing in the late 60's at Llandudno in Cape Town and began competing in 1975, participating in events both locally and abroad initially as an amateur and finally in 86/87 as a professional. In 1978, Jon was one of the first crew to regularly start surfing Dungeons, Cape Town's now famous big wave venue. In 1986 he became the vice chairman and contest director of the Atlantic Surf Club in Cape Town.
In 1999, together with his Wife Donna, he moved to the warmer waters of Plettenberg Bay where he established The International Surf School (I.S.S) which Ticket to Ride are privileged to attend.
Klee Strachan
SLSA Qualified Lifeguard
Provincial Coach
Professional Surfer
Klee grew up surfing Muizenberg, the very place where the Ticket to Ride SA Surf Adventure begins. From humble beginning but strong support from his parents Klee's surfing improved at a rapid rate. He quickly went from being one of the top local surfers at 'The Berg' to representing his Province and then being a dominant force in the Billabong Junior Series.
From there he went on to become u16, u18 and u20 SA Champion. He and his parents relocated to Durban which is a more competitive surfing area so that Klee could turn his focus to becoming a professional surfer. He has represented South Africa 6 times and surfed on the World Qualifying tour for several years. Being a pro surfer is not easy feat, especially on a south african budget, and more recently he has turned his attention towards coaching whilst still competing in some world qualifying tour events.
It is great to have Klee on board with Ticket to Ride and we are sure he will bring an exciting new dimension to the trip.
Nikita Robb
ISA Level 1 Qualified Surf Coach
Professional Surfer
Hailing from East London Nikita Robb grew up surfing some of South Africa's best waves. Given the size of East London and the number of surfers there compared to Cape Town or Durban, 'Slummies' has produced South Africa's best competitive surfers, with 4 of the last 5 world tour surfers coming from their tight knit community. Nikita is one of those four, fulfilling her dream of making it onto the world tour, but with a lack of sponsorship for women's surfing has moved on and is looking for new ventures, especially in coaching.
Ticket to Ride fitted perfectly into her portfolio and having travelled up and down the South African coast all her life it really is a natural extension of what she has done all her life. Nikita is always up for a laugh and amped to surf. She surfs better than most guys and for anyone coming on a trip she is someone they can really look up to. Having been coached by many different coaches through her years as a top South African and world tour surfer she has learnt a lot and is ready to start sharing that wisdom.
We are excited to have her on board!
Chad Schwab
Hailing from The Bluff, Durban, Chad and his surfing family grew up at the beach. Unsurprisingly his best friends are all surfers including Rudy Palmboom (WQS pro surfer). No longer a grom, Chad has really stamped his mark on the powerful waves on the Bluff.
Chad is no stranger to Durban’s Piers – the hotbed of pro surfing in Southern Africa.
As a youngster Chad was a regular competitor on the Pro Junior tour.
In looking for more ways to make a living from his surfing talent, Chad found Ticket to Ride Surf Tours, his application was quickly accepted, and Chad is now an asset to our South African team.
Christopher Bond
- ISA Level 2 Surf Coach
- BSA Level 2 Surf Coach
- SLA Beach Lifeguard
- 2007 SA University Surfing Champion
Chris has also generated a huge reputation for not only his coaching, but also for his surfing, and represents Western Province at the South African Championships, and can often be seen in the local South African surf magazines.
As an all round sports enthusiast he has also represented Western Province at volleyball, and played a lot of cricket, hockey, tennis, and basketball to a high club standard. Chris has done a Business Science degree at the University of Cape Town where he ran the surf club. Chris brings invaluable local knowledge to the South African team, he runs trips with quality and control, lives life to the full, and will always be the first up in the morning on the hunt for waves.
Dave
Dave has been on just about every Ticket to Ride course we have got - he now works in the office and is definately worth chatting to before you decide on the most suitable ticket to ride course for you.

Linley co-founded the company in 2005, off the back of a business plan written at Birmingham University in 2003 having gained inspiration from him own travels around the world which have taken him surfing around South Africa, Costa Rica, Panama, Guatemala, Mexico, Australia, New Zealand, Morocco, USA, Ireland, France and Portugal.
He knows what makes for a great surf trip, and is able to share this enthusiasm with others.

Linnea Solh
Linnea is our certified Yoga teacher, she did her training in India in 2002. Since then she has been teaching in Wales, London, Sweden and Costa Rica, incorporating several styles of yoga that have inspired her during her quest to perfect her own ever evolving practice.
Linnea is also a dedicated surfer out in the waves at every opportunity. Through her work with surf camps as well as her own surfing, she has come to understand the special needs of surfers and has created surf specific yoga programmes that would suit all levels.
Pete Abell
BSA Level 2 Surf Coach
NARS Surf Coach
Pete is a true character who has committed himself to the ultimate season lifestyle. During the Summers he runs one of Cornwalls most prestigious surf schools, King Surf in Mawgan Porth, and will spend his Winters either in the Mountains hunting for powder, or travelling the globe searching for perfection in the water, sometimes doing both!
We first spotted Pete in 2005 whilst working for another Surf School on the same beach as him. We were simply blown away by the level of energy and enthusiasm he threw into his lessons; and no matter how hard we tried ours never looked as fun. So if you can't beat them, you've got to join them, and that's why we're so excited to have him on the Ticket to Ride team.
Ryan Ribbink
Awarded national South African surfing colours
1st place - South African Masters
1st Place - Senior Surfing titles

Ryan has represented his province (KwaZulu Natal - Durban) in surfing many times and has also obtained his national (South African) surfing colours. He has also won the South African masters and seniors surfing titles, showing his surfing abilities are way above average.
Living in Durban has allowed Ryan to have some epic surf trips up and down the coast over the past few years - traveling with friends to well known and isolated spots to experience those surfing memories that can be reminisced about with people that were there and passed onto others that can imagine their journey.
Ryan runs surf trips throughout Southern Africa from Cape Town all the way up into deepest and most unspoilt parts of Mozambique. Ryans knowledge of all these places is vast so he knows the extensive beach breaks, left and right peaks, and perfect point breaks that south Africa and Mozambique have too offer.
