Leaving Tofo was really hard and we were very inclined to stay a few more days, but it was time to leave. We had our last party with our new friends, ate our last peppermint tart, had our last surf and headed off back on the road down South.

As we had a good six hours of driving to do I though I may as well give my co-pilot Eman a little insight into the world of photography. I only got a DSLR in March this year, knowing nothing at all, but have learnt a little so thought I may as well pass some of what I know onto him to pass the time. I explained aperture, shutter speed, ISO and just suggested a few different things which may look good. This blog consists of Eman's photos only, as taken with my camera.

As we neared our destination we got to see yet another spectacular African sunset and were happy to be moving on and exploring new places. We got up at 4am to drive to Ponta and the drive was quite a lot of fun. Finally it became clear to the group why we HAD to be in a 4*4 vehicle! With sand and dirt roads and huge holes everywhere the guys were determined we were lost but arrived in Ponta at a good time in the morning. After breakfast it was straight down to the beach (about 50m from our accommodation) and were were stoked to see a good wave right out the front. The guys were sceptical at first but shorebreak/beachbreaks are one of my favourite type of waves and the guys got into it quickly.

We had an epic session and the perfect start to Ponta. Amazingly there are only a few days left of the trip and the conditions look good so the next blog may well be the last. I hope you enjoy Ian's pics.

Adios,

Chris
