1 week today and it is touch down for all our January - April  2012 South Africa crew. 10 weeks Cape Town to Durban with 3 added weeks for some in Mozambique.

Now in our 5th year and what is almost our 20th TTRide SA expedition, anticipation for the start is the same as ever.

Over the last few years, South African Surfers have really made their mark on the world surfing scene, and so they should, almost all of my favourite waves around the world are on the coast of South Africa. Surfer in South Africa are spoilt for choice.

Most famous of them all is Jordy 'soon to be world champ' Smith. Raised in Durban, Jordy has moved down to Cape Town.

The clip below shows Jordy enjoying some summer waves recently at Jeffreys Bay and then by his house Llandudno in, Cape Town. If this doesn't get you in the mood  to get out to South Africa for the most ultimate surf adventure course, I don't know what will.

Seeing this clip confirmed that I will be heading out to catch up with Chris, Chad and their 2012 ttride crew in Jeffreys Bay. Even young Oscar couldn't finish his morning bottle after seeing this clip..? Shall I take him? First dip in a rock pool.. Jeffreys bay South Africa? Not a bad way to start your surfing life...!

Looking forward to seeing everyone departing in London and then Chris and Chad will be ready and waiting in Cape Town..!
