Well we're up in Jeffreys Bay now, home of the best right-hand pointbreak in the world! Everyone had a really fun time in Plettenberg Bay though and it was a great stop on the trip even if it flew by.

The coaching from John, Donna and their crew was really good and the group benefited a lot from it, showing improvement in their surfing. The waves were small, but big enough and really clean. We were really fortunate to have dolphins swimming right past us on several occasions and a mother and calf southern right whale come within touching distance (watch the video!!).

We also went to Tenikwa cat sanctuary where you get to see leopard, cheetah and most of the other cats which reside in South Africa. Whilst they are caged, it is still great to get to see them up close, and certainly not in a zoo environment. These animals have been rescued from various places and looked after until ready to go back into the wild where possible.

On the more adrenalin side of things we also went bungy jumping and skydiving whilst in Plett. As the bungy is included in the trip it makes it hard for anyone to refuse, and whilst usually there are one or two who decide not to, this time everyone braved it and jumped off. Well done to them! The sky diving is an entirely different sensation all together and only a few of them did it. For me the flight up there is amazing enough in itself never mind jumping from 10000 feet and free falling for 35 seconds. The view from up there of Plett and the surrounding area is incredible and already worth it.

At the backpackers in Plett they set up a fire every night to braai on so Byron and myself took it upon ourselves to show the group several different South African meats and styles of cooking. Included on the menu one night was ostrich steak skewers which are a personal favourite. The girls put in a good effort too one night making a great Chilli con Carne, whilst Alex was happy with plates piled high with just meat, making the most of it.

We are in Jeffreys Bay now and settling in nicely, I will give you an update later in the week of what we have been up to here. Waves are coming though so we should get some epic J-Bay swell.

Take a look at the video to see it all.
