Final week of an Epic journey
We enter our last week here in Santa Teresa and as I look back so much has happened and time has just seemed to slip away. And I for one have thoroughly enjoyed my time here in Costa Rica. In 6 weeks we have done so much. The main objective was all about the surf and we have all done plenty of that from Dawn Patrols to Sunset Sessions and plenty in between. But it’s not all been about the surf we have trekked through National Parks, swam in waterfalls, sipped cocktails in infinity pools, snorkelled Pacific reefs, quad biked dirt tracks, swung through the trees, seen whales swimming in the oceans and witnessed some of the best sunsets that I have ever seen in my life.
But were not done just yet and perhaps we have saved the best for last as we prepare ourselves for yet more surf and some sport fishing hoping to bring back a catch for us to have our final BBQ cooked for us at the Funky Monkey Lodge. The group have really bonded well and I will be saying goodbye to some new friends when they get set to fly home next week and they all have an open invitation to carry on their surfing and visit me at the TTRide academy in Perranporth.
This week the TTR riders have lent a hand at the local school helping to paint the school and tidy the yard. A strong ethos at TTR is community work and being able to give something back to the local community. We have also planned a local kick about with the school kids which gives us the perfect opportunity to test out our Spanish which we have been learning for the last 5 or so weeks.
The group have bonded really well and we welcome the latest additions to the group Jessica and Olympia who have settled into the Costa Rican life perfectly.
So with one more week left we are going for it hard and making the very best of what’s on offer here in Santa Teresa. So that’s more surf, more yoga, more Spanish, trip to Montezuma, sports fishing, BBQ and a good party night out to cap it all off, followed by a Sunday chill out at our fave place “Rock a Mar” to watch the sun go down.
Think I’m going to need a holiday after all!!
