With Beth Holland’s fundrasing efforts going from strength to strength, the TTRide Foundation has further strengthened it’s support of the Masiphumele football team by sponsoring the two highest regards players and giving them the opportunity develop their talent by joining the Fishhoek football Academy.
The Masiphumele football team is based in the previously disadvantaged community known as “Site 5”, the Foundation has helped develop the team for the past few years supplying necessary, kit, and equipment which have enabled the boys to continue their coaching sessions. However the training facilities remain incredibly basic, and the opportunity for the players to progress to the highest standard is very limited.
“Giving the boys the chance to take their football to the Fishoek Training Academy is a fantastic opportunity for them, and could be the start of something great!” said Thomas, the Masiuphumele football coach.
With the London marathon fast approaching Beth has been dedicated to her grueling training routines running up to 17 miles and taking part in several 10k runs and half marathons. On the 14th March Beth completed the Silverstone half marathon in her quickest time yet of 1 hour and 52 minutes and this weekend plans to run the Cambridge 10k…twice.
“I did my longest run on Sunday of somewhere between 16 and 17miles and completed the Silverstone half marathon in 1hr 52mins which massively kicked butt on my previous half marathon times!” said the hardworker Beth.
Beth’s fundraising has been going strong and so far she has raised £600 for the Ticket to Ride Responsible Travel Foundation, which helps a variety of projects within the local communities of South Africa.
With just over 4 weeks to go there is plenty of time to show Beth your support by sponsoring her efforts, and any donations are gratefully received.
