Cape Town is the perfect introduction to South Africa. As well as being one of the most vibrant cities in the world, Cape Town is home to some spectacular surfing possibilities not to mention some of the world's most beautiful beaches. We will be working with The Kahuna Surfing Academy, one of South Africa’s top surf schools. Together with the KSA and their other highly qualified coaches we will give you the ultimate introduction to South African Surfing helping you master the basics and feel comfortable in the water.

Whilst in Cape Town you have a choice of several Community projects. The following are some of the main projects that you will be able to help in. Firstly, we will be helping with Cape Town Juventus, a local football team established by Thomas for the young children of the Masipumelele township. We provide Thomas and the team with football kits and balls and organise training sessions on the beach. It is rare that the township kids get the chance to spend time at the beach as their parents are always working and there is nobody to accompany them. The chance to come to the beach and play against us is a real event for the kids and it proves to be an extremely popular and rewarding project.

The Second Project is the Masipumelele Day Creche. The crèche takes in young children from the township whilst their parents are away working, as well as orphans and the homeless. Ticket to Ride provides the children with toys and we organise trips to the crèche in small groups.

Finally, you will be introduced to Karen Aldridge. Karen assisted us in setting up our projects in Cape Town and is a very active member in the community. She will talk to you about the current climate in South Africa and often arranges for evenings in the Townships where we attend local events.

Whilst in Cape Town we will also be taking in the World Famous sites. Expect to climb Table Mountain, visit Cape Point and swim with the penguins at Boulders Beach. We will also be taking a tour of the famous vines at the Klein Constantia vineyard.

Cape Town is one of the most active stops on our itinerary with so much to see and do. Be ready for an action packed introduction to South Africa!
