Learn Spanish

Engaging with the local community and their local culture is at the centre of the Ticket to Ride travel philosophy. So as well as learning to surf each Rider will be given the opportunity to learn basic Spanish through a course of 10 (1 hour) Spanish lessons.

Being able to chat with locals in their native language opens up a range of exciting possibilities and will give each Rider a far wider social spectrum within the local town. These language skills are also a key factor when visiting the local school when teaching basic English to the local school children as well as music, art and sport.

In order to ensure each Rider has the best possible chance of becoming at the very least conversational in Spanish, some of the latter surf lessons will also be conducted in Spanish as a way of going far beyond the constrains of text book learning.

Giving our Riders the chance to learn basic Spanish to go alongside learning to surf is something that we are extremely proud to offer as we feel this will be another lifetime skill that Riders will take with them long after their travel with Ticket to Ride.
