As a founding Director of Ticket to Ride, Linley has nurtured the business from the early stages. He has unparalleled experience in handling surf tours, having run trips for large groups to South Africa, Mozambique, Portugal and all over the UK, for the past five years.

He originally learnt to surf on his own Gap Year, and after falling in love with the sport became a qualified surf coach, and also boasts an impressive acumen of countries traveled to on the hunt for perfect waves.

When he's not running trips or touring the UK in the TTRide truck, he can be found preparing himself for his next Adventure or putting in the hours in the TTRide London HQ.

Tim's dedication for Surf and Travel has led him all over the world. From the remotest jungle of South and Central America to the harsh terrain of the Occidental Sahara. Tim's travels have taught him invaluable skills when it comes to planning and executing highly successful surf adventures.

As a Language graduate from Bristol University and key member of their surf club, Tim spent a year living in South West France where he nurtured an interest in wine which he recently followed by working at the prestigious Klein Constantia Wine Estate in Cape Town for their harvest season.

Tim offers a different perspective on surfing. His laid back style and love for different boards will allow our Riders to pursue a variety of different approaches to surfing. Two years in Cornwall as an instructor at Harlyn Surf School and a season coaching the Restormel Borough Development Squad leaves Tim well positioned to add further knowledge and expertise to the Ticket to Ride team.

A true believer in the outdoor lifestyle, when he's out of the office and not in the water he's often to be found in the air engaging his other passion, Paragliding.

George has over 20 years surfing experience. He first visited Costa Rica in 1991 and after travelling much of the world has decided to call it his home from home.

Before making a fulltime living out of surfing, George spent three years in the Parachute regiment and a further 2 years in the Foreign Legion serving active duty in Chad. Other career paths have included professional Photography for both surfing and fashion.

George and his family have happily turned their lives into one endless summer spending half their year living in Santa Teresa and the other half over Europe.

George's involvement in Ticket to Ride Costa Rica gives us a fantastic local knowledge as well as unparalleled expertise and genuine enthusiasm for those lucky enough to be coached by him.

Ryan Ribbink

With a wealth of experience Ryan has been surfing for 25 years now and this is clearly displayed in his array of surfing achievements. Ryan has represented his province (KwaZulu Natal - Durban) in surfing many times and has also obtained his national (South African) surfing colours. He has also won the South African masters and seniors surfing titles, showing his surfing abilities are way above average.

Living in Durban has allowed Ryan to have some epic surf trips up and down the coast over the past few years - traveling with friends to well known and isolated spots to experience those surfing memories that can be reminisced about with people that were there and passed onto others that can imagine their journey.

Ryan runs surf trips throughout Southern Africa from Cape Town all the way up into deepest and most unspoilt parts of Mozambique. Ryans knowledge of all these places is vast so he knows the extensive beach breaks, left and right peaks, and perfect point breaks that south Africa and Mozambique have too offer.

Sam Millar

Sam runs the popular Freeride Surfschool in Perranporth, North Cornwall and since graduating from Plymouth University - the U.K's top surfing University, where he represented their prestigious surf team, he has spent his winter's traveling the globe.

He fell in love with South Africa working at the Coffee Shack as their in-house Surf Coach in 2007, and was spotted by TTRide on the inaugural trip. Realising that he was too good to miss he was signed up as a Trip Leader for 2008 and proved himself to be a hugely popular and inspiring character.

Sam is a BSA Level 2 accredited coach, and comes with a wealth of coaching experience and has been surfing for over 18 years; he will always be the last person to leave the water after a good session.

Will Hayler

Will left Newcastle University in 2005 with a degree in Politics and a passion for Surfing. Having finished his final season as an Instructor at Harlyn Surf School, Will decided to turn down a number of different career options in order to set up Ticket to Ride 'Worldwide Surfing Adventures.'

Will's energy and excitement for surfing are highly contagious. Since leaving school Will has spent whatever time he had traveling and surfing in some of the world's most exotic and remote locations making many valuable friends and contacts throughout the surf industry.

Away from the beach Will heads up all Ticket to Ride's Marketing and Events and is constantly dreaming up new and inventive ways to ensure that Ticket to Ride remains at the pioneering forefront when it comes to surf coaching that delivers results and responsible travel that puts something back into the local community.

Chris Bond

As a local from Cape Town Chris was bought up in the huge surf culture there, and became addicted to the sport and the ocean from an early age. He has worked as a beach lifeguard, and his passion for surfing has taken him around the world. It was in England that he proved himself as a top class surf coach working for the British Surfing Association, impressing all those around him with his enthusiasm for coaching, professionalism, and highly approachable manner.

Chris has also generated a huge reputation for not only his coaching, but also for his surfing, and represents Western Province at the South African Championships, and can often be seen in the local South African surf magazines.

As an all round sports enthusiast he has also represented Western Province at volleyball, and plays cricket, hockey, tennis, and basketball to a high club standard. Chris brings invaluable local knowledge to the South African team, he runs trips with quality and control, lives life to the full, and will always be the first up in the morning on the hunt for waves.

Nikki Leadbetter

Originally from Scotland Nikki graduated from Edinburgh Art School with
an BA Hons in photography and visual communication. With a new found love
for surfing, Nikki set off with camera and surfboard in hand to add
more exotic locations to her already varied list of countries visited,
travelling through the Unites states, central america, Cambodia, Veitnam, Indonesia,
New Zealand and Europe to name but a few.

Nikki is a graduate of TTRides zero to Hero 2007 and after her time in
South Africa she travelled back through Indonesia and OZ to return to Cornwall
to work as Female surf coach at Animal Surf Academy in North Cornwall where
she was a very popular coach. In January 2008 Nikki headed back out to South
Africa to assist Tim in running our Zero to Hero's trip 2.

An ambitious and highly qualified photographer, Nikki exhibits her work in
many galleries through out the UK and online and has taken a lot of our in
house photography at Ticket to Ride. As a confident and lively individual
Nikki brings another edge to the ranks of the Ticket to Ride HQ and an all important female dynamic.

Nico Keruzec

Growing up in France Nico spend many years developing his surfing skills riding a variety of different boards and developing his strengths with Longboarding which have taken him to reaching 4th on the British Londboard tour and 10th on the European Longboard tour.

During his variety of different studies including Languages, Physics, Chemistry and Surf Science and Technology Nico has managed to spend a lot of time travelling through South and Central America, Indonesia, Morocco and South Africa. Working at the Sugar Shack in East London as their in-house Surf Coach Nico has a wide knowledge of South Africa and its coast line.

Currently working in Perranporth as as surf coach Nico has a wealth of coaching experience and is a great asset to Ticket to Rides South African trips.

Paul Botha started surfing in Cape Town in 1959 before going on to pioneer many of the now popular surf spots on the Southern tip of Africa with his contemporaries during the sixties. After extensive worldwide surf travels in the seventies he returned to Cape Town and became a surfing administrator.

Paul ran the first professional surfing events on the Cape Peninsula and was appointed the Springbok surfing team coach in 1983. Having founded many South African surf organisations such as ASP Africa regional office and the giant Ocean Action festival, he also facilitated the formation of the non-racial United Surfing Council of South Africa.

Identifying the need for international standards in the burgeoning SA surf school industry early in the new millennium, Paul and his son Dene imported British Surf School and Instructor standards to South Africa that will ensure both the safety and quality of the Surf Schools and instructor training across South Africa.

Paul provides Ticket to Ride not only with unparalleled knowledge of Surfing in South Africa but also a wealth of contacts that Ticket to Ride has used to ensure an unforgettable South African surfing experience for all involved.

Dene Botha

Dene is South Africa's highest internationally qualified surf instructor and the country's only accredited Trainer and Assessor for surf instructors.

Dene started surfing at age 5 in Cape Town, going on to win the Western Province U10 surfing title as a nine-year-old in 1990. He competed in surfing events until 1998, winning or placing highly in numerous events countrywide, including Jeffreys Bay, captained the WP Junior (U16) team in the SA Junior Championships in 1997, and placed in the top 20 in the 2007 SA Surfing Championships.

Dene specialises in advanced surf training for competitive athletes and has also conducted more than a 20 Level 1, 2 and 3 surf coaching courses on behalf of Surfing South Africa (SSA), the national controlling body for the sport, in all the major coastal centres and in Mozambique.

Dene is also a qualified Beach Lifeguard and Level 1 Swimming Teacher.

Jon Henry

Jon started surfing in the late 60's at Llandudno in Cape Town and began competing in 1975, participating in events both locally and abroad initially as an amateur and finally in 86/87 as a professional. In 1978, Jon was one of the first crew to regularly start surfing Dungeons, Cape Town's now famous big wave venue. In 1986 he became the vice chairman and contest director of the Atlantic Surf Club in Cape Town. In 1999, together with his Wife Donna, he moved to the warmer waters of Plettenberg Bay where he established The International Surf School (I.S.S) which Ticket to Ride are privileged to attend.

Etienne Venter

Etienne boasts one of the most complete coaching C.V's of any surf coach worldwide and is lucky enough to ply his trade on the legendry waves at Jeffrey's Bay. Etienne is a level 3 accredited instructor and is a former South African Team Coach.

To this day Etienne continues to coach at the highest level grooming the up and coming stars of the South African surf scene as the "South African Future Stars" coach. Etienne is an exciting addition to the Ticket to Ride coaching staff as riders will have the chance to sample some of the world's best waves with one for the world's most experienced surf coaches - a mouth watering opportunity for any surfer!

Andre Malherbe

The Malherbe brothers are among South Africa's most famous surfing families having helped take the sport to the global stage in the mid 80's and 90's. They are now fully involved in pioneering new surfing spots across South Africa, heading off into the more remote areas to discover empty world class surf.

Andre's Honours include 3 wins on the World Pro / Am circuit, The South African National Title, the 2005 Masters Champion and he was a member of the 2007 Masters Team that surfed to victory in Puerto Rico in 2007. His two son's Luke (8) and Jordy (4) look set to carry the Malherbe flag into the next generation of South African rippers!

Older brother of Andre and one of South Africa's most successful surfer's, Dave's past honours make impressive reading! Dave has 26 years of surfing experience and won his first surfing title in 1986, winning the South African Open. He then went onto win the 1990 World Pro/Am crown, the 1992 European Championships and dominated the Masters Series winning from 1999 - 2003. He regained his master's crown again in 2006 and was a member of the South African Masters team that went onto win the World Master's Competition in Puerto Rico in 2007.

His coaching experience is equally impressive, working as the South African Junior team coach, the Italian team coach and has worked with current World Tour competitors Greg Emslie and Royden Bryson (currently ranked 27 & 25 in the top 44)

Ant Brodowitcz

Ant lives to surf and one session with him will change your outlook forever. Ant has been surfing for over 40 years and honours include a World Title in 1978.

Ant has since turned his focus to coaching and as the South African Masters Team Coach, he led them to victory at the 2007 masters Championship in Puerto Rico. He has also worked with the Springbok National team and remains one of South Africa's most upstanding and highly regarded surf personalities. He has recently been appointed to the national selection panel for the World Surfing Games.

Together with his son Byron, himself an up and coming South African surfer and national competitor for Kwazulu Natal, he continues to offer professional and inspirational coaching for anybody looking to get a kick out of their surfing.

Deon Woodley

Deon is the figurehead of South African lifesaving. Having worked as a professional lifeguard on the beaches of Durban from 1988 to 2000. Deon has been training and assessing Lifeguards since 1991 and has trained over 1,200 lifeguards.

He is currently the head of the professional lifeguard training service provider, namely the Lifeguard Academy, which operates throughout Southern Africa and the Indian Ocean.
